England star hits treble in friendly win.

Sunderland Ladies 4 Everton Ladies 0

Sunderland Ladies issued a real statement of intent with a thumping 4-0 friendly win over WSL 1 side Everton.

Abbey Joice scored a hat-trick and terrorised a full-strength Toffees side, with Keira Ramshaw adding the other goal.

Sunderland have enjoyed an excellent pre-season so far and went into the game on the back of a 4-1 victory over Watford in the FA Cup.

They adjusted quickly to the artificial surface at Consett and went ahead within 15 minutes – Joyce punishing a defensive lapse to find the back of the net.

Another aberration let Joyce in to score her second goal after the break before completing her hat-trick soon afterwards.

Helen Alderson in the Sunderland goal made a string of good saves to preserve the clean sheet, but the hosts weren’t done and rounded off the scoring when Ramshaw charged down the goalkeeper’s clearance to slot home.
