Ladies set for Everton friendly

WSL1 opponents to visit on Sunday plus news of international call-up.

Sunderland Ladies continue their preparations for the new WSL2 season with a friendly against top-flight side Everton on Sunday (March 23, KO 2pm).

The Lady Black Cats will take on the Toffees at Consett’s Belle Vue Stadium, with free admission for all supporters.

Sunderland Ladies’ debut WSL2 campaign kicks off next month with a local derby at Durham on April 17.

Meanwhile, defender Rachel Furness has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad for two upcoming internationals.

The 25-year-old will join up with her country for the FIFA Womens’ World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and the Faroe Islands.

Northern Ireland will face the Swedes at Shamrock Park, Portadown, on April 5 before heading to Torshavn for the second game on April 10.
