Player of the Day: Len Duns

Winger takes spotlight.

Len Duns was born in Newcastle and made the move to Wearside from Newcastle West End in September 1933.

The outside-right made his debut during the 1935-36 championship-winning season and captured the FA Cup during the following campaign.

He played more than 100 games for the club either side of World War Two, guesting for a whole host of clubs during wartime.

During his time with Sunderland Duns notched 55 goals.

The winger retired from football in May 1952 having never played for another professional club.
