Ahead of this weekend’s game at Wembley Stadium looks back on Sunderland’s trip to the national stadium from 1985, where Len Ashurst's side took on Norwich City in the Milk Cup final.

The Canaries ran out 1-0 winners following an own goal from Gordon Chisholm, who deflected Asa Hartford's shot past goalkeeper Chris Turner.

Sunderland had the chance to pull back in the second half when Norwich defender Dennis van Wijk handled the ball, however, Clive Walker, who inspired Sunderland to 5–2 aggregate win over Chelsea in the semi-final, watched his spot kick get denied by the post.
