Two Kevin's notch to protect unbeaten home start; Yorke makes debut.

2006 – Dwight Yorke made his Sunderland debut in Roy Keane’s first home game in charge of the Black Cats as Tobias Hysen scored to earn a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

2000 – Kevin Kilbane and Kevin Phillips scored to give the Lads a 2-1 win over Derby County and maintain their unbeaten home record at the start of the campaign.

1986 – Nigel Saddington became the first Sunderland debutant to play 120 minutes in a Full Members’ Cup tie against Barnsley which the Black Cats won on penalties.

1922 – Sunderland’s most prolific league goalscorer, Charlie Buchan, netted four times in a 5-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Roker Park.
