Sunderland fans can bag themselves a VIP hospitality package for two in the new Heineken Lounge via an exclusive competition run before every home game – with the latest contest running this week.
The Strongbow caption contest is run on the club’s official Twitter page (www.twitter.com/safcofficial).
An image is posted at 4pm on a Friday afternoon prior to every home game, with fans invited to submit their cleverest captions - being sure to incorporate the hashtag #strongbow and @SAFCOfficial in their entries. The competition closes 48 hours after the final whistle.
Our panel of experts will then choose a winner, who will receive a pair of VIP hospitality tickets for the next home league game against Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The victorious tweeter and a guest will enjoy some of the best matchday treatment the Stadium of Light has to offer, including a three-course meal in the new Heineken Lounge, pre and post-match refreshments, centre-line padded seats as well as the opportunity to meet the man of the match.

Strongbow Competition Terms & Conditions
“SAFC” means Sunderland Association Football Club Limited; “HUK” means Heineken UK Limited; “the Relevant Match” means the relevant home game of SAFC; “the Winner” means the person who is chosen as the winning entrant to each competition; “Man of the Match” means the SAFC player chosen by the guests of the Heineken Lounge, “the Promoter” means Sunderland Association Football Club Limited.
2.1 The competition will run prior to and during each SAFC home league game during the 2013-14 season. The competition will open the Friday before the Relevant Match and will close 48 (forty eight) hours after the full time whistle of the Relevant Match.
2.2 Neither SAFC nor HUK promotes unhealthy or excessive consumption of alcohol, www.drinkaware.co.uk.
This competition is open to residents of the UK and Ireland aged 18 (eighteen) years and over only. Employees (and members of their immediate family) of SAFC, HUK, their agents and anyone connected to this competition are not eligible to enter.
4. Rules to participate
4.1 All entrants must be aged 18 (eighteen) years or over.
4.2 Both the Winner and their guest must be aged 18 (eighteen) years or over
4.3 Entry is via SAFC official twitter page @SAFCofficial and must include “@SAFCOfficial” and “#strongbow” (or such other alternative hashtag that HUK may determine from time to time).
4.4 There is no limit to the number of entries which can be made by each participant. Winners will not be restricted from entering further competitions during the same campaign.
4.5 The Winners consent to SAFC and/or HUK using the Winners winning entry, twitter handle, and/or any imagery of them and their guest, including any photography, imagery, names and quotes obtained from them utilising the prize, being used on SAFC and HUK’s promotional channels both printed and digital.
4.6 No purchase of any goods or services is necessary to be eligible for entry into this competition.
4.7 There is no charge to register with SAFC’s website.
4.8 Entries submitted before the open date and time and/or after the closing date and time will not be considered.
4.9 The winning entry will be chosen by SAFC’s Digital Media Team. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5.1 The Winner(s) will each receive, courtesy of SAFC, 2 (two) VIP places at the next SAFC home game, as guests in the Heineken Lounge and will include a chance to sample HUK’s great range of brands both pre and post-match; a three course meal before the match; padded half-way line seats in the West Stand and the opportunity to meet the SAFC Man of the Match.
5.2 The Winner shall be liable for any and all accommodation and travel required in order to avail of the competition prize.
5.3 There are no alternatives to the prize, the prize is as stated and is non-transferable. If due to circumstances beyond the control of SAFC or HUK, SAFC is unable to provide the stated prizes, SAFC and HUK reserve the right to carry the prize forward to an alternative date suitable to SAFC. In the event of the match for the winning prize being postponed SAFC will carry the prize forward to the re-arranged fixture.
5.4 Should the Relevant Match be postponed or cancelled for reasons outside of SAFC’s control, SAFC shall not be liable to the Winner in respect of any costs, time or energy expended in relation to such Relevant Match.
5.5 Given the nature of the prize, proof of age will be required to be provided upon taking up the prize by both the Winner and their guest to the satisfaction of HUK. Failure to provide such proof may result in the winner and/or their guest being denied entry to the Stadium. In such the prize will be terminated and neither SAFC or HUK will have any liability to the Winner and/or their guest.
6.1 The Winner will be notified by SAFC’s Digital Media Team by means of an @reply tweet to the winning entrant’s Twitter handle.
6.2 If the Winner of the prize cannot be traced after reasonable efforts have been made by SAFC’s Digital Media Team, SAFC will be entitled to select an alternative Winner from the entries to the relevant home match competition.
6.3 Notification of the winning entry will be posted on www.SAFC.com, the official website of SAFC, and the official SAFC Twitter account, after the close of the competition for the last Relevant Match.
7. General Conditions
7.1 Any entry, which does not comply with the rules, may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of SAFC. SAFC is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, misdirected entries, lost or unavailable network connections, failed, incorrect, garbled, delayed electronic or other communications or other technical problems related to mobile entries. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of delivery.
7.2 All entrants agree that they may be required to take part in publicity without further consent or payment. Such publicity may include their names and/or entries.
7.3 SAFC will monitor the nature of all entries and all tweets associated with the competition.
7.4 SAFC will advise HUK of the number of entries and traffic volume to each competition.
7.5 Entrants should note that any abusive, racist or derogatory entries will be deleted and the perpetrator will be blocked and will have their account reported to Twitter.
7.6 In addition to these terms and conditions, entrants/participants should avail themselves to the rules of Twitter.
7.7 By entering this competition, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by any other requirements set out in the promotional material, which may be amended or varied at any time by the Promoter.

8. Data protection
8.1 In order to participate in the competition participants must provide certain personal information. This personal information is collected and processed for the purposes of organising, running and monitoring the campaign, as well as for carrying out publicity activities on it.
8.2 The Promoter shall be considered the data controller for the database containing this personal information.
8.3 In entering into the competition, you agree that SAFC may use your data for promotional purposes. SAFC will not pass your data onto any third parties.
This Competition and the rules are governed by English Law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England.
