Former striker pens latest column.
It was great to get the win at Wigan after having to hang on for the last few minutes.
The win was a great response to going out of the cup against Bolton and it was nice to get back to winning ways straight away.
I was following along on Soccer Saturday and when I saw the own goal come up early on I maybe thought it was going to be one of those days.
But the one thing you can say about this team is that they have great resilience, play for each other and never give up.
To put together a sequence of five wins in eight games is fantastic, because in this league you can quite easily go that length of time without winning

Their commitment can never be questioned; we came back to go three one up and then held out.
Wigan traditionally start picking results up around this time of year so to get three points was pleasing.
The result keeps the momentum going too and we can concentrate on looking up the league.

We’ve seen Fraizer Campbell leave the club earlier this week and I’d like to wish him all the best at Cardiff.
Martin O’Neill has said it’s a good move for him and I agree. Fraizer has a great chance of getting back in the top flight.
He wasn’t getting a lot of game time here so I think the move suits both parties. Hopefully we’ll see him back soon as he’s a player who always gave everything he had every time he pulled the shirt on.
Now it’s an interesting game coming up against Swansea. Of course it’d be nice if they took their foot off the pedal after reaching the Capital One Cup final, but I can’t see it!
We’ve got a couple of extra days’ rest, although I’m sure the lads would rather be playing against Everton in the FA Cup.
If we can pick up another couple of positive results over the next two games we’ll be right up there in the mix.
However, we have to be careful, not get carried away and concentrate on picking up as many points as we can while we’re riding high.
