1964 – Sunderland beat Everton 3-1 in the FA Cup; roaring into a 3-0 lead in front of almost 63,000 fans.

1930 – Full-back Ernie England played his final game for the club, against Nottingham Forest.

1913 – Sunderland’s Charlie Buchan (pictured) scored on his England debut against Ireland in Belfast. Three Sunderland players featured for England – the only time in history this has occurred.
