Heart on your sleeve: Foundation of Light Day

Saturday is Foundation of Light Day, the biggest fundraising date in the charity’s calendar.

Vital funds are being raised for the ‘Heart on your Sleeve’ campaign - an opportunity to bring supporters together to help and inspire one another.

Health inequalities in the UK are getting worse, with the gap between the North East and the South of England worsening.

Foundation of Light wants to tackle these issues encouraging parents and grandparents to stay both physically and mentally active to inspire the next generation to do the same and live happier, healthier lives.

Ways you can get involved

Players will be wearing one-off shirts with commemorative sleeve patches – these will be auctioned after the game, with proceeds going to the Foundation of Light.

Supporters can buy their own Heart on Your Sleeve shirt patches from the Beacon of Light, there’s also commemorative pin badges available from reception at the Beacon of Light.

Half time activities

As part of Foundation of Light Day, there's a halftime showcase taking place on the pitch, with participants from the Foundation’s range of programmes.

Taking to the pitch will be the Girls Academy under-10s, players from Promising Little Dribblers and youngsters taking part in Disability Multi-sports.

To thank fans for their support there will also be participants from Neurological Football, Family Learning, Street Soccer and Premier League Kicks with a special message.

Supporters will also be taking on Samson the Cat in a penalty shoot-out on the pitch! Best of luck to you all.
