Bradley Lowery has won Match of the Day’s Goal of the Month award.
The five-year-old enjoyed a memorable day when Sunderland faced Chelsea at the Stadium of Light on 14 December, scoring a goal against Asmir Begovic during the warm-up.
Lowery received a standing ovation as the big screens signalled ‘Sunderland 1-0 Chelsea, Lowery’ before he walked out alongside his hero Jermain Defoe.
A campaign saw fans call for the strike to be given the accolade, and the youngster was named joint-winner alongside Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
