Fan zone: Pre-match entertainment v Everton

Supporters visiting the Stadium of Light on matchdays can once again enjoy the fantastic outdoor Fan Zone.

A great addition to the matchday experience, the Fan Zone features bar and food outlets, local music talent, radio roadshows, a giant screen playing match highlights and classic games, along with a range of interactive activities, competitions and appearances from former and current players.

Open three hours before kick-off, the area provides a relaxed environment for fans to soak up the matchday atmosphere and meet with fellow supporters.

Ahead of the Monday night match against Everton, fans will be able to enjoy live music from Hartlepool solo artist James Leonard Hewitson and his backing band, The Relevant People.

His style fluctuates within the parameters of indie-rock, and is described as 'slacker' and 'anti-folk', similar to that of Pavement, Jonathan Richman and Adam Green. His first single, 'Care Less, Love Less' was released in July and was described as 'the anti-folk anthem' by Euphoria Magazine. Second single 'The Screen' coming soon.

Added to the packed programme of entertainment, there is a great range of food and drink options, with the introduction of several new ranges and special offers for the season ahead.

The stadium concourses will also feature a range of new products such as a Bovril Chicken Wrap along with old favourites such as the famous chicken balti pie.

The Fan Zone opens at 5pm with James taking to the stage at roughly 7pm.
