Club news: SAFC back Stonewall campaign

Sunderland AFC has joined forces with Stonewall’s campaign to make sport everyone’s game.

The club is taking part in country-wide campaign to show that lesbian, gay, bi and trans (LGBT) people are welcome at every level of sport.

Activity across the weekend of 26 and 27 November aims to show that sport is everyone's game and to ensure LGBT people feel welcome and included.

Activity will take place at fixtures across the forthcoming weekend, which sees David Moyes’ side travel to Anfield.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, John O’Shea said: “Football provides a great platform to educate and inform people. There is no place for discrimination of any kind in society and through the popularity of our sport, we can help to promote the positive message of inclusion.”
