Your say: More than just a shirt

In celebration of their newly extended partnership with Sunderland AFC, Dafabet are gifting a giant crowd-surfer flag to fans group Ha’way the Flags, to be used at the Stadium of Light on matchdays.

The new flag will feature a current Sunderland AFC first-team player, and fans are being encouraged to vote, via Sunderland AFC’s official Facebook page, for the player they would most like to feature in the design.

A short-list has been drawn from the top five players in the club’s recent player of the season vote, and includes Jermain Defoe, Jan Kirchhoff, Lamine Kone, Patrick van Aanholt and Wahbi Khazri.

Fans wishing to cast their vote can do so at facebook.com/sunderlandafc. Voting closes at midday on Tuesday 12 July. The top two will go through to a final vote-off.

Ha’way the Flags founder and Sunderland fan, Nick Adams said: ““Ha’way the Flags is a great initiative run by supporters, for supporters, with the aim of enhancing the matchday experience at the Stadium of Light.

We have worked closely with Sunderland AFC and they have always been very supportive of what we do, so to get additional backing from Dafabet in the form of a new flag, is fantastic for us and we are very grateful to them.”

The winning flag will make its Stadium of Light debut at Sunderland’s first home game of the new Premier League campaign, against Middlesbrough.
