In celebration of their newly extended partnership with Sunderland AFC, Dafabet are gifting a giant crowd-surfer flag to fans group Ha’way the Flags, to be used at the Stadium of Light on matchdays.
Sunderland fans were asked to vote for which current Sunderland AFC first-team player they would like to feature on the flag and the overwhelming winner was player of the season, Jermain Defoe.
The flag will make its Stadium of Light debut at Sunderland’s first home game of the new Premier League campaign, against Middlesbrough on Sunday 21 August, 2016.
The Ha’way the Flags initiative was founded by Sunderland fans to enhance the matchday atmosphere.
Group leader Nick Adams said: “Sunderland AFC and they have always been very supportive of what we do, so to get additional backing from Dafabet in the form of a new flag, is fantastic for us and we are very grateful to them. We are looking forward to seeing it at the first home game of the season.”
