Club supporting nationwide campaign.

Sunderland AFC’s players and staff are showing their support for this year’s Sports Relief campaign, helping raise awareness for the charity which works with disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the UK and across the world.

Sport Relief 2014, along with the Sainsbury’s Sports Relief games gives people of all ages the chance to do something active while helping raise money for a great cause.

Sunderland captain John O’Shea said: “It’s fantastic to be able to help a worthwhile cause like Sport Relief, we really hope that as many people as possible can get involved this year.

“If there’s an opportunity for people to give something back while keeping themselves active and getting involved in sport then that’s even better.”

The British public have been putting in amazing performances for Sport Relief ever since it began in 2002, and the £195 million raised so far is being put to good use, helping transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people in the UK and around the world.

This year’s campaign runs from 21-23 March with a range of activities taking place across the UK and the North East, for full details of how you can get involved please visit
