Dream ticket for Pamela

Prize winner had given up hope of getting to Wembley.

Sunderland fan Pamela Chambers is on her way to Wembley thanks to’s Capital One Cup Final ticket competition.

Retired Pamela from West Boldon hit the jackpot in bagging a pair of tickets for the Black Cats showpiece game at Wembley Stadium on Sunday after she’d resided herself to just watching the match on TV.

“I really cannot believe it!” an emotional Pamela shrieked after being told she was the lucky winner. “You’ve made my year!”

Pamela, who was a season card holder with the club at Roker Park and the Stadium of Light, gave up her seat last season after her father was taken ill.

She dashed over to the Stadium of Light to collect her prize in record time as she found out she’d won the competition in the middle of a B&Q trip, “I was supposed to be getting a few bits for the joiner coming around tomorrow – but I’m cancelling it now, I’m delirious.”

Pamela is taking her friend Linda Davison to the game as the pair had already made plans to travel down to London to soak up the atmosphere in the capital and catch the game on TV.

A tearful Pamela explained: “I can’t believe I’m going, I’d given up hope of getting a ticket so I was just going to travel down to be in the vicinity – I was at Wembley in 1985 for the Milk Cup final so I’d love to be there to see us win this time!

"Just like every other Sunderland fan I'm daring to dream!"
