Foundation of Light's popular courses return.

Budding youngsters from across the region are invited to join the third set of Foundation of Light Open Trials.

The second set of trials sold out quickly and due to popular demand another two days have been added for boys in school years 1 – 6.

Held at Perth Green Community Centre in Jarrow, the trials will take place on Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 August, 10am – 3pm.

Open Trials gives talented youngsters the opportunity to develop their skills and be watched by SAFC and Football League scouts.

Everyone taking part will receive individual written feedback about their performance, with the best being referred to Development Centres and the Academy of Light for possible further training.

Jamie Wright, Football and Sport Director at the Foundation of Light said: “We have Open Trials twice a year for boys and the course is always very popular.  It’s a guaranteed way for the youngsters to be seen by professional scouts and also to receive feedback and guidance about their performance.  By putting an extra two days on, this gives the people that missed out an opportunity to take part”.

The Foundation has a strong link with the Sunderland AFC Academy, through providing young players via a feeder system into the Development Centres and the Academy of Light.

Places are limited and MUST be booked in advance by calling 0191 551 5191 or by emailing carley.mileson@safc.com
