Club supporting initiative at today's game.
Sunderland AFC will once again play its part in football's biggest community engagement initiative with a ‘One Game, One Community’ day of action when the Black Cats face Everton in the Barclays Premier League today.
The special day forms part of a nationwide campaign celebrating diversity and encouraging inclusion at all levels of football.
Sunderland’s first team will be sporting ‘One Game One Community’ t-shirts for their pre-match warm-up this afternoon.
A giant ‘One Game, One Community’ flag, carried by Sunderland’s ball boys, will lead both teams out and Sunderland’s staff will all be wearing ‘One Game, One Community’ badges for the game.
The club's chief executive, Margaret Byrne, said: “The One Game, One Community message helps football to continue its proactive work in promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity.
"Sunderland AFC continues to fully support this key message and is committed to ensuring that the Stadium of Light is a friendly and welcoming environment for everyone.”
Kick It Out is celebrating its 20th year with a season of action, engaging with football and communities throughout the country in what is the largest sporting initiative of its kind worldwide.
