Songstress ready for north east reunion.

Singing superstar Jessie J is looking forward to a reunion of music royalty when she returns to the north east later this year.

The Price Tag and Laserlight singer, who last toured in 2013, is headlining North East Live at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Sunday June 22.

And, along with sharing her love of music with the stadium crowd, the 26 year-old chart-topper is looking forward to catching up with some great friends.

“I just want it to be really fun and exciting,” she said.

“I’ll be going back to the beginning with some tracks like Mama Knows Best, but I’ll also be doing a few things that people haven’t heard before.

“I’m friends with everybody on the bill and went to school with some of them so it’ll be like a giant reunion.”

Jessie J, who also previously appeared as a judge on BBC talent show The Voice, is leading a line-up of British and American talent at North East Live 2014, including fellow Brit school graduates Rizzle Kicks and Katy B.

The Saturdays, whose members Rochelle and Frankie went to the same dance school as Jessie, will also be performing, as will R&B star Jason Derulo, who the singer counts as a “really good friend.”

They’ll be joined by teenage sensations Union J and The Vamps, up-and-coming band Rixton and girl group Neon Jungle, who supported Jessie J on tour.

The gig, organised by SAFC and AEG Live, is open to all ages with doors opening 12pm, with the first act taking to the stage from 2pm, the event will close at approximately 10pm.

Gary Hutchinson, Commercial Director at SAFC, said: “North East Live 2014 will be one of the biggest pop concerts the region has ever seen and we’re delighted that Jessie J is topping the bill.

“It was fantastic to hear how thrilled she is about the performance and I’m sure all her fans in the North East are just as excited.”

Tickets for North East Live 2014 are on sale now from priced from £25 each.

Anybody who purchases a ticket for North East Live at the Stadium of Light before Saturday 31 May, or has already done so, will receive automatic entry into a draw to meet one of the stars, in an exclusive meet and greet, before they wow the crowds on Sunday 22 June.
