Officials meet with club partners

Commercial director among delegation welcomed in Africa.

Senior officials from SAFC’s partner club in Ghana, Asante Kotoko, welcomed a club delegation yesterday to discuss a number of developments with the partnership.

The Chairman and CEO of the Ghana club, which has over eight million followers, were among the high level delegation who met with SAFC officials, including Commercial Director Gary Hutchinson and Gordon Chisholm, International Development Coach.

A positive knowledge-sharing session took place, in which both parties examined ways in which the partnership can continue to flourish.

The Sunderland delegation were also afforded the huge honour of being welcomed to the y the Asante King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Asantehene’s residence by his representative, Oheneba Adusie Poku, where they reaffirmed the club’s commitment to its Ghana partnership.

A group of youngsters from Asante Kotoko are set to travel to Sunderland next month to experience the training methods and first-class facilities at the club’s Academy of Light training base.

Speaking about the visit, Gary Hutchinson said: “It was great to meet first-hand with the Asante Kotoko officials, who made us feel extremely welcome. Both parties very much value the positive relationship we are continuing to develop and we are looking at a number of ways in which we can continue to help each other achieve our goals.”
