Former Cat hits the Bar

1960s star George Mulhall set for pre-match chat

Fans in the Black Cats Bar can catch up with Sunderland legend George Mulhall this Saturday.

The 1964 promotion winning outside-left is set to take to the hot seat for a pre-match talk ahead of Sunderland's home clash with Arsenal at the Stadium of Light.

Mulhall made 284 appearances in his seven years on Wearside after joining from a successful Aberdeen in 1962.

He scored 66 goals in his time at Roker Park, form that led to him picking up his three Scotland caps.

Mulhall went on to manage Halifax Town, Bradford City and Bolton Wanderers, as well as coaching roles at Tranmere Rovers and Huddersfield Town.

Mulhall will be in the Black Cats Bar from 1.30pm on Saturday.

The talk-ins are part of Black Cats Bar matchdays, where fans can enjoy a complimentary home-cooked meal, free programme and take advantage of drinks offers.

Tickets are priced at £50, for more information call 0871 911 1500.
