Keep the kids entertained during the school break.

The Foundation of Light’s coaching department is holding a wide range of football coaching over the Easter school holidays for youngsters of all ages.

The charity is working in partnership with the SAFC Academy to run Open Trials to recruit any promising players to the Development Centres. The trials are open to boys aged 5 – 16 years.

Soccer Centres will also be running at venues in Sunderland, County Durham and Washington for boys and girls of all abilities aged 5-14 years. Sessions consist of skill and tactical training as well as small-sided games.

A disability coaching session will be running in Sunderland for disabled young people and their siblings aged 5-25 years.  The course is open to males and females and will consist of exciting and challenging football games and activities to help not only develop skill and technique but to also work on each individual’s balance, co-ordination and technique.  The small sided games and activities help encourage teamwork, communication and confidence within each individual.

The highly successful Girls’ Only courses will be taking place in Sunderland and County Durham, centered around fun sessions and exercises focusing on skills, tactics and small-sided games designed to develop strategy and technical ability for girls.

‘Little Dribblers’, a fun introduction to football for children aged 3-5 years, will be running throughout the holidays at the Stadium of Light, including ‘Little Dribblers Big Day Out’ which includes a Stadium tour, coaching session and classroom activity.

Coaching courses are delivered by FA Qualified coaches and are suitable for children of all abilities.

Places for courses must be pre-booked by calling 0191 551 5077 or e-mailing rhys.atchison@safc.com
