Stadium to host Fan Zone ahead of Hammers game.

Sunderland AFC supporters can enjoy some unique pre-match entertainment ahead of the Black Cats clash with West Ham next weekend, with a fantastic Fan Zone outside the Stadium of Light.

For the first time since it opened, the south east corner of the stadium will host an outdoor entertainment area, featuring a range of activities for fans of all ages.

Sunderland welcome Sam Allardyce’s side on Saturday 12 January and fans will be able to experience a fantastic outdoor jumbo screen, which will show the latest highlights, interviews and features from around the club. The EA Sports Dug Out will be on site, where fans can challenge each other on electronic sports games and the Foundation of Light will showcase a number of activities including a speed cage and inflatable goal.

Capital Radio will also host a roadshow with music, competitions and entertainment. Bar and catering facilities are on offer outside the stadium, with the Fan Zone open from 1:00pm until just before kick off (2:45pm).

Sunderland AFC commercial director Gary Hutchinson said: “This is something completely new for the club and we’ve been keen to try for sometime. We are always looking at ways to enhance the overall matchday experience for our supporters hopefully the Fan Zone will help us to do just that.

“There’s something for everyone and I’d encourage supporters to come along and have a look at it and enjoy the entertainment on offer.”
