Caption competition victor reflects on great day out.
Sunderland fan Andrew Iveson spent the day in the company of a Sunderland legend at the Arsenal game thanks to an exclusive safc.com competition in partnership with Strongbow.
Andrew was selected as the winner of the newly-launched Strongbow caption contest, bagging himself a pair of VIP seats for the clash with the Gunners in the process.
He was hosted in the Strongbow Suite at the Stadium of Light and sat alongside 1973 FA Cup winning captain Bobby Kerr in the stands as the Black Cats suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat.
"To say that I was surprised to be the first competition winner would be a huge understatement,” Andrew said.
“We were the talk of all our friends and made them very jealous.
“To hear that Bobby was to be our guest for the afternoon was to say a big shock as he is a true legend.
“He made us very welcome and spent lots of time with us telling us stories and generally being a true gentleman. I was even lucky enough to have Bobby sit next to me throughout the game.
“After the game Bobby was again kind enough to again spend time talking to use and allowing us to have photographs and autographs.”
The competition opens an hour and a half before each game, when a picture is posted on the club’s official Twitter account (www.twitter.com/safcofficial).
Fans are invited to reply with their captions, with a winner selected around 48 hours after the game and rewarded with VIP seats for the succeeding home fixture.
Andrew added: “This was a once in a lifetime experience – anyone who is lucky enough to win this competition is guaranteed to have a fantastic time.
“Strongbow and Sunderland are great partners and look after their guests. Many thanks again for a truly memorable day.”
