Places available for annual event at Rockliffe Hall.

Golf fans are being invited to dust off their clubs and pit their wits against Sunderland AFC’s players in the club’s annual Golf Day at Rockliffe Hall.

The Black Cats stars and manager Martin O’Neill will join guests at the highly popular event on Tuesday 23 April, 2013.

Participants will be welcomed with breakfast rolls at 11:00am, before a noon four ball shotgun start in teams of four. Each team will include current star, a former Sunderland great or a member of the club’s backroom staff.

The competition will be played over 18 holes on a championship course, with competitions along the way for the longest drive, nearest to the pin and the best and worst performers. There’s also the chance to win a Citroen DS3, courtesy of Town Centre Citroen, for a hole in one.

SAFC captain and keen golfer, Lee Cattermole said: “The golf day has become a firm favourite on the season’s events calendar and the lads really enjoy it. It’s a great opportunity for us to mix with the guests in a relaxed environment – although one or two of the players could do with a bit of practice on their technique!”

The event will culminate in an evening reception, with drinks on arrival and sumptuous dinner designed by Rockliffe Hall’s executive head chef, Kenny Atkinson.

The day is priced at £1000 (+VAT) for a team of three persons, which includes breakfast, all course fees, drinks reception and dinner.
