Pop stars set to wow Wearside

Bands look forward to North East gig.

A stellar line-up of music stars are promising fans an event to remember, as North East Live returns to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

Some of the biggest names in pop will come together for the one day festival on Sunday 22 June, 2014 and with tickets set to go on sale this weekend, the excitement is starting to mount.

The event will be headlined by Jessie J, who, in a special message to fans, said: 'I've just finished my tour of the UK but looking forward to getting out there to see you all again. And this time in the sun!'

Jessie J will be joined by Rizzle Kicks and top girl band The Saturdays, who are looking forward to performing in front of thousands of pop fans, said 'We have loads of fun and surprises in store. Plus lots of glam outfits of course! We can’t wait to get everybody all fired up’.

Thousands of fans flocked to the home of Sunderland AFC for North East Live 2013 and the 2014 show is set to be bigger and better. Teen heartthrobs The Vamps return to Wearside after a storming performance in last years’ inaugural event: “This will be the biggest show we've played and we are excited!  Great news to end 2013 with!” the band said.

Union J, who also performed at last years’ event, added: “We get to play with all our favourite bands and get to see all our favourite fans - what's not to love about this.”

US hip hop artist Jason Derulo will join the UK stars for what will be his only outdoor UK tour dates for 2014 and he is 'looking forward to coming to the UK and participating in some incredible festivals'.

The family-friendly music extravaganza is designed to suit music fans of all ages, with tickets priced from just £25. A pre-sale of tickets has already seen huge demand and with tickets on sale across a range of outlets from 10:00am on Saturday, fans are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

The Stadium of Light ticket office is open from 10am until 1pm on Saturday and ticket hotlines and websites (as listed below) will also be operating 24 hours a day.
