Supporters should take care when heading to ground tonight.
Sunderland AFC is advising supporters attending tonight’s Barclays Premier League fixture against Queens Park Rangers to plan their journey in advance and heed traffic and travel advice.
The North East has experienced significant rainfall in the last 48 hours, causing surface water and flooding on some roads.
SAFC’s head of safety, Paul Weir said: “We would advise supporters to check the usual travel reports before setting off on their journey and to also allow extra time to travel to the stadium to take into account the weather conditions.”
The Stadium of Light and immediate surrounding areas have not experienced any issues.
Fans can still secure their seat for tonight’s game, with prices from £25 for adults, £19 for 17-22-year-olds, £18 for over-65s and just £10 for under-16s. Tickets are available in-person at the Stadium of Light ticket office, by calling 0871 911 1973 or online via the club's official website.
Fans are also reminded that cash turnstiles 13 and 14 will be open from 6.15pm, with tickets priced at £30. There will be no concessions available at the turnstiles, so under-16 tickets must be purchased from the ticket office.
All tickets are sold subject to ground regulations.
