Legends signing copies of Complete Record between 6-7pm.
Supporters are invited to the club shop at the Stadium of Light tonight where a host of Sunderland stars will be signing copies of the brand-new definitive work on the club, Sunderland: The Complete Record between 6-7pm.
1973 FA Cup winning captain Bobby Kerr and Dick Malone - the man Kerr doubled up with to thwart Leeds’ reputed match winner Eddie Gray - will be present.
Joining them will be sixties star Colin Suggett, who had the splendid record of five goals in four games for Sunderland against Newcastle, two time Player of the Year Gary Bennett and the only man living to score five goals in a game for Sunderland, Nick Sharkey.
Also hoping to be present are the leading scorers from the 1996 and 1980 promotion-winning sides, Craig Russell and Pop Robson, along with former Player of the Year Martin Smith and 1992 FA Cup finalist Gordon Armstrong.
Sunderland: The Complete Record is a hardback book of well over 700 pages greatly expanded on the 2005 original with many new sections and all expanded and updated. It includes records of every player, manager and chairman as well as details of every game ever played including all friendlies, war time games and minor cup competitions since the club was founded in 1879.
The book also details every international played by players on Sunderland’s books as well as players on loan, players born overseas, youngest, oldest, highest scorers and much more. In fact, every aspect of the club history that could be thought of is included in this publication by club historian Rob Mason along with Mike Gibson and Barry Jackson.
The book costs £25 and with a current offer in club shops you can snap up your copy tonight for £20 and get it signed by a host of SAFC legends.
