New kit's a hit

New home kit on sale now.

It's new season, new kit for Sunderland as the 2012-13 home strip hit the streets this morning.

Fans queued at the club store at the Stadium of Light to get their hands on the new kit, which will be worn for the first time in competitive action against Reading later this month.

Sunderland's traditional red and white shirt sports the famous three stripes of adidas, and features the latest ClimaCool fabric designed to regulate the body temperature and actively conduct heat away from the body.

The black shorts are trimmed with red and, in a change to last season, the players will sport black socks with a red trim.

Every fan who purchases a new home shirt today is eligible to take part in the Biggest Team Photo event in October, where fans will pose alongside Martin O'Neill and the players.

The new strip, sponsored by Invest In Africa, was officially launched last night at an exclusive preview event for season card holders at the Stadium of Light.

Fans can purchase their new kit now at the stadium store and also at retail locations in Debenham's Sunderland and the Galleries Shopping Centre, Washington.

Alternatively, merchandise can also be purchased online via the online store.
