An Academy of Light Under-8 group recently had the opportunity to meet first-team players who have come through the ranks on Wearside.
Tommy Watson, Chris Rigg, Matty Young, Dan Neil and Anthony Patterson sat down with the young Black Cats and their parents to share their knowledge on life at the AoL.
The Under-8s will now be making the step to become official Academy players having been selected from their group and they enjoyed taking photos, grabbing autographs and quizzing our Sunderland stars.
Talent Recruitment Officer, Alan Moore said: “This was a perfect opportunity for the players and parents to ask questions, seek advice and listen to experiences of coming through the ranks from pre-Academy right through to the first team.
“We look forward to seeing what our future stars can achieve and hopefully one day it will be them giving out the advice.”
