Premier League 2: Under-21s travel to Wolves

Sunderland Under-21s return to league action on Monday with a Premier League 2 clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers (7pm).

Opposition

Wolves currently sit fifth in the PL2 with nine wins, three draws and five defeats from 17.

The Wanderers are currently undefeated in seven league fixtures with recent victories against Everton and Derby County.

Tyler Roberts was at the double against the Blues with Owen Hesketh the current leading goalscorer with five goals in 10 appearances.

The U21s are currently led by James Collins.

The former midfielder started his coaching career with Crewe Alexandra after a eight year playing spell with the League 2 side. 

Premier League 2

The Black Cats are currently 11th in the league with an opportunity to climb up to eighth with victory.

The end of the season will see the top 16 sides enter a play-off competition with the top 11 invited to the Premier League International Cup in the next campaign.

Tottenham sit top of the pile with 12 wins and just one defeat this season. West Ham, Fulham and Arsenal make up the rest of the top four.

Leeds, Manchester City and Newcastle are currently bottom of the division. 

Team news

Ellis Taylor is edging closer to a return following a spell on the sidelines. Michael Spellman is also on the comeback trail. 

Ben Crompton remains out following an ankle injury.
