Victory over Blackburn Rovers in their final group match saw Elliott Dickman’s side leapfrog Rovers to top the group with 11 points from a possible 18.
Colchester, meanwhile, progressed as runners-up in Group C, knocking out Manchester City and Derby County at the same time.
Last 16 ties have to be played between March 17-20.
