Andrew Nelson has joined Hartlepool United on loan until the end of the season.
The under-23 forward, who is yet to make a first-team appearance at the Stadium of Light, forced his way into the development side during the back end of the 2015-16 season, after impressing for the under-18s.
Nelson has been a regular member of the club’s under-23 side during the current campaign, while also featuring the EFL Trophy.
He also found the net in the Premier League International Cup during a 2-2 draw with Derby County.
