Spotlight:  Liverpool U23 coach: Michael Beale

Michael Beale manages Liverpool under-23s and is based at the club's Academy in Kirkby. He joined the Academy in September 2012 as youth development lead coach for the under-15 and under-16 age groups. In August 2014, Beale took charge of the under-21s, with predecessor Alex Inglethorpe becoming Academy director. Prior to joining the club, Michael spent 10 years at Chelsea, working full-time as youth development officer and under-14 coach. His professional career included a spell at Charlton Athletic and he has subsequently acquired a UEFA A licence.

Key players: Greenwood v Brannagan

Both posing a creative and inventive thought for each defence to deal with, Rees Greenwood and Cameron Brannagan hold all the necessary weapons to be match winners on Sunday afternoon. Happy to operate on either flank or behind the front-man, both Greenwood and Brannagan have added goals to their games with the latter netting twice in the Reds’ 6-2 victory at Spurs on Monday night. Greenwood has also been on target this season, scoring a fine goal in last weekend’s 4-2 defeat against Manchester City to give the lads a glimmer of hope. With pace, trickery and plenty of flare, these two players will need to be kept under wraps otherwise it promises to be a long afternoon for the opposing side.
