MON: Injury situation unchanged

Martin O'Neill is unlikely to have any players back from injury against Middlesbrough.

Martin O'Neill says the injury situation remains "as it was" ahead of tomorrow's trip to Middlebrough.

O'Neill is currently without several players, including captain Lee Cattermole (pictured) and defender Wes Brown.

The Sunderland manager takes his team to the Riverside Stadium on Wednesday evening and doesn't seem to be expecting any of his injured players to return to action.

He said: "In terms of the long-term injuries, they haven't changed at all, and as for the rest of it it's very much as it was."

Meanwhile, loan signings Wayne Bridge and Sotirios Kyrgiakos are ineligible as neither were registered to play in the original tie, which ended 1-1.
