Striker Campbell's 'Making Moves'

Striker Fraizer Campbell recently made a surprise visit to see youngsters attending one of SAFC Foundation's specialist courses.

Black Cats star Fraizer Campbell surprised youngsters taking part in SAFC Foundation's 'Making Moves' programme.

Campbell paid a visit to the after-school session at specialist school, Portland College, where the football club's official charity deliver in-school coaching for pupils.

The session involved pupils aged 12 years upwards who have a wide variety of disabilities taking part in football skills training and small sided games.

The 'Making Moves' programme, which is funded by the People's Postcode Lottery and Children in Need, works with just under 1,000 youngsters every year.

Speaking at the session Fraizer commented: "It's great to see these kids getting the opportunity to have fun through sport. They'll pick up a lot of skills through taking part in the sessions but most importantly they're enjoying themselves and being active which I think is important for any youngster."

SAFC Foundation Making Moves Co-ordinator Kevin Darke added: "Having Fraizer visit the session means a lot to these youngsters. They're all big football and Sunderland fans and their faces lit up when he walked in."

SAFC Foundation is the registered charity of Sunderland AFC which works with more than 40,000 children, young people and their families in community, education, health and sport programmes across the north east every year.
