Sunderland's challenge for the Selco Masters trophy came to an end in Birmingham over the weekend.
The group of veterans won through to the National Final after qualifying from the regional heat recently only to be eliminated at the knock-out stage at the LG Arena in the Midlands.
The veterans were eliminated in the quarter-finals, losing 4-3 to Manchester City who were themselves eliminated by Tranmere Rovers in the last four.
Birmingham eventually took the trophy on home soil, beating Tranmere on penalties after the final finished 3-3. Geoff Horsfield was named as the player of the tournament.
