Black Cats in action

Despite a break from Barclays Premier League this weekend a selection of Sunderland players will still be in action.

Sunderland will have strong representation when this weekend's round of international fixtures take place.

Darren Bent will be hoping to pick up his seventh England cap when Fabio Capello's Three Lions take on Bulgaria in tonight's Euro 2012 qualifying game.

Jordan Henderson and Danny Welbeck have been called up to represent England under-21s as Stuart Pearce's side take on Portugal tonight. (Friday KO 6pm)

Defender Paulo Da Silva faces the long trip to the Far East as Paraguay take on Japan tomorrow (Saturday 4th September) before taking on China in Nanjing three days later.

Whilst new signing Asamoah Gyan will be with Ghana when they kick off their CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Swaziland on Sunday.

Winger Ahmed Elmohamady has been selected in the Egypt squad to play Sierra Leone in Cairo also in action on Sunday.
