Mensah picks up injury

John Mensah looks set to miss the weekend's clash with West Brom.

The injury curse affecting Sunderland defender John Mensah has struck again.

The Ghanaian was injured making a last-ditch challenge during the 2-2 draw with Birmingham, damaging his hamstring while stretching for the ball.

Scans have shown up a grade 2 hamstring tear, definitely ruling Mensah out of the trip to West Brom and most likely the game against Colchester.

It's thought the injury could rule Mensah out for around three weeks.

Manager Steve Bruce will select from centre-halves Paulo Da Silva and Nedum Onuoha to partner Titus Bramble at the Hawthorns.
