Sunderland fans should get their first look at Titus Bramble in action tomorrow after the fit-again defender was included in the squad to face Leicester City (KO 3pm).
Bramble has been recovering from a stress fracture sustained towards the end of last season but trained fully in the latter stages of Sunderland's trip to Portugal.
He is now fit and ready to go, leaving manager Steve Bruce with a decision as to whether to break up the central defensive partnership of Michael Turner and Anton Ferdinand, which proved successful in the Algarve.
Add the returning Paulo Da Silva to the mix and the Sunderland chief has some decisions to make at the back.
Midfielder Lee Cattermole continues his comeback from a groin problem and strikers Darren Bent and Kenwyne Jones both return after knocks. Martyn Waghorn returns to his former club.
Meanwhile, Trevor Carson and Simon Mignolet will battle it out for the starting spot in goal in the continued absence of number one Craig Gordon (arm).
Andy Reid (Achilles), Matt Kilgallon (back), George McCartney (ankle) and David Meyler (knee) join Gordon on the sidelines. Click here for updated injury news.
While Sunderland travel to Hoffenheim next weekend, tomorrow's friendly is Leicester's final outing before their Npower Championship season kicks off at Crystal Palace.
They have won two and drawn one of their three friendlies so far, including a 5-1 rout of Peterborough United in midweek.
New boss Paulo Sousa is likely to go with the side which will start the season next weekend, meaning Sunderland will face another tough test after games against Brighton, Hull and Benfica in Portugal.
Striker DJ Campbell will be City's one to watch, having scored in every friendly game. The frontman has returned to the Midlands having played a key role in Blackpool's promotion to the Barclays Premier League last season.
Commentary on the game is live on SAFC TV from 2.55pm with Stu Vose and Rob Mason. Click here to sign up for just £2.99.
