Michael Turner has reported no ill effects from his 90-minute workout against Benfica on Tuesday.

The defender made his comeback from a thigh problem against the Portuguese champions and confirmed after the game the injury gave him no problems during the game.

The news will be a boost for manager Steve Bruce, who currently has David Meyler, Craig Gordon, George McCartney, Darren Bent, Kenwyne Jones, Andy Reid and Matt Kilgallon on the injured list.

Titus Bramble, meanwhile, has delighted the coaching staff with his progress in training and could be ready for Saturday's game against Leicester.

Bramble came through a tough session prior to the Benfica game and watched the 2-0 defeat from the sidelines.
