Legends entertain at charity event

Regional football legends Micky Horswill and Bernie Slaven entertained guests at SAFC Foundation's Fixtures Breakfast charity event yesterday.

Micky and Bernie, hosts of The Legends Football Phone In show on Real Radio, were present to do a question and answer session about the new season's fixtures which were revealed to guests at the event.

BBC presenter Jeff Brown compered the morning with local business people asking questions to the legends.

SAFC Foundation is the registered charity of Sunderland AFC, which last year helped 34,000 young people and their families in the region.

Guests were also treated to breakfast in the Riverview Brasserie in the event which is part of the Sunderland based charity's corporate events calendar.

Lesley Spuhler, SAFC Foundation CEO said: ""Micky, Bernie and Jeff all did a great job of entertaining the guests in attendance and we're very grateful for their support. Fixtures Breakfast is always great fun each year and it helps us raise much needed funds for the work that we do across the region."

SAFC Foundation Corporate Membership costs £250 (+VAT) per season and, as well as receiving discount on Fixtures Breakfast, members gain access to other exclusive networking events including the 'Tip Off Lunch' with the Sunderland AFC manager.
