A number of papers seem convinced Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is to make a summer swoop for Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara.

O'Hara is currently on loan at Portsmouth, but the south coast club's financial woes will make it difficult for them to complete a permanent deal.

The Northern Echo say Bruce sees the 23-year-old as a perfect fit in midfield, but that the Sunderland chief will have to beat back competition from West Ham and Wigan.

The Daily Mail say the chase for ENPPI right-back Ahmed Al Muhammadi continues after Sunderland were linked with the Egyptian international in the summer. Wigan and Blackburn are also reported to be interested.
