Sunderland AFC can confirm that the club's Barclays Premier League fixture at Villa Park has been rescheduled for 7:45pm on Wednesday 24th March 2010.

The fixture had been due to take place in Birmingham this Saturday but was cancelled last week when the Villains overcame Crystal Palace in a fifth round replay in the FA Cup sponsored by E.ON.

The victory meant that Martin O'Neill's side would instead face a trip to Coca-Cola Championship side Reading on Sunday 7th March, battling it out for a place in the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since finishing as runners-up in 2000.

Tickets purchased for the original fixture will remain valid for the rearranged match.
