Sunderland could be poised to make transfer moves in January as Steve Bruce prepares to jet into Europe to take a look at a potential target.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference earlier today, the Sunderland manager confirmed he will jet out on Sunday to make a personal check "on a certain player" on the Continent.
But he wouldn't be drawn on the identity of the individual as he focused on this weekend's game against Wigan Athletic.
Bruce has already been busy in the transfer market, bringing in seven players in the summer including £10m striker Darren Bent and captain Lorik Cana, a £5m capture from Marseille.
Speaking exclusively to safc.com recently, his assistant Eric Black didn't rule out January moves as clubs prepare for the re-opening of the transfer window on New Years' Day.
