Fashion was the word this afternoon as Sunderland's stars got to grips with their new roles as fashion models.

Several first-teamers will take the catwalk tonight as SAFC Foundation raise much-needed funds by hosting their ever-popular annual fashion show.

Entitled 'Fashion Strikes', the event will play host a number of top names in entertainment alongside the real stars of the show - the Lads!

Led by skipper Lorik Cana, a group of players were put through their paces by the modelling team as they prepare to strut their stuff tonight.

Of course, the banter was free-flowing with Anton Ferdinand and Nyron 'Nugsy' Nosworthy at the forefront with Phil Bardsley and Frazier Campbell, amongst others, joking away in the background.

Even Olympic boxer Tony Jefferies joined in the fun - he'll be joining the players on the catwalk this evening to model some of the latest styles.

Nugsy laid down the gauntlet to his colleagues, laughing: "Some of the lads should stick to the simpler styles, but I can pull this off; you've either got it or you haven't."

And amidst catcalls from agitators keen to disrupt in the background, fellow model Ferdinand took a slightly more serious view as he told SAFC TV:

"The fashion show is something a bit different and it's always a good night," he said.  "It's nice to get involved with something for a good cause like the Foundation."
