The Black Cats have confirmed that former Dutch international Boudewijn Zenden is in training on Wearside after manager Steve Bruce offered the former Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder use of the Club's state-of-the-art facilities as he looks for a new club.
Zenden is a free agent after his contract at Olympique Marseille expired in the summer. The 33 year-old will now join up with the Sunderland first team and former Marseille team mate Lorik Cana at the Academy of Light.
Bruce said: "Bolo has joined us for a while and will train at the Academy for a few weeks as he looks for a new club. He clearly has a first-class pedigree as a player so it's great to have him here."
