Rooms and packages:
Whether it's a traditional wedding or an intimate gathering, the Stadium of Light offers dedicated rooms to suit every requirement and budget. If you are holding your daytime reception with us, room hire for your evening event is free of charge (minimum numbers of 50 apply).

Montgomery Suite
(formerly the Banqueting Suite)
Our largest suite boasts a stage, dance floor and stylish bar. An ideal room for a large daytime wedding breakfast or to celebrate into the evening with friends and relatives who could not join you at the afternoon reception. Spacious and versatile, the Montgomery Suite hosts up to 440 guests.

Executive Lounge
Newly refurbished, the Business Lounge is a modern and contemporary suite with stunning views across the River Wear. The perfect location for buffets and dinners, with the addition of a Champagne and cocktail bar the suite can accommodate up to 1620 guests. 

Riverview Brasserie
A wonderful, stylish and yet contemporary setting, this stunning suite with its private outdoor balcony is very popular for wedding breakfasts for up to 140 guests.

James Herriot Suite
With superior stylish decor and a private outdoor balcony, the James Herriot Suite is intimate and inspirational. This exceptional suite can accommodate up to 80 guests for a stylish wedding breakfast or 90 as a drinks reception. The suite can also be used as an intimate venue for your wedding ceremony, accommodating up to 80 guests.

Quinn's Sports Bar

Looking for something different? Our Sports Bar is a football-themed lounge, boasting an abundance of sporting memorabilia and a modern centrepiece bar area. It is an ideal venue for a drinks reception or for that special evening celebration. The room has seating for up to 200 guests but can accommodate up to 550 with disco.

Black Cats Bar
With a contemporary and modern design, the Black Cats Bar has an impressive capacity of 1000. The room easily accommodates a disco, dance floor and live entertainment, whilst panoramic views of the pitch give that unique touch for your big day.

Executive Boxes
Executive Boxes offer a unique location for an intimate wedding breakfast for up to 25 guests. All boxes have a private balcony overlooking the pitch and private bar facilities.

Heineken Suite
A cosy room ideal for smaller and more intimate wedding ceremonies or receptions for up to 40 guests.

Reception Drinks Suite
An array of suites are available for you and your guests to relax in with drinks on arrival before moving into your reception suite. A suite can also be made available for guests who wish to stay after the wedding breakfast.

Twilight Wedding Package
This particular package is tailor made for those who require a ceremony later in the day and want something a little less formal. The relaxed style of this package provides you and your guests with a segue through from arrival drinks with canapés to a fantastic evening with buffet and entertainment. £25.95 per person. (Minimum numbers of 100)

Asian Inclusive Wedding Package
Package includes:
Private entrance with red carpet
Private foyer for drinks reception
Dance floor and staging
Additional private rooms for family photographs
Complimentary car parking

To ensure your day runs smoothly, this inclusive package also includes:

  • Sunderland AFC Conference and Montgomery Suite Supervisor (11am – 11pm)
  • Full use of Montgomery Suite Kitchen (subject to Executive Chef’s agreement), one Senior Chef and two kitchen porters
  • Food and beverage service staff as required (minimum of one staff member per 50 guests, subject to service style)
  • Set up of Banquet, positioning of tables and chairs
  • White linen tablecloths and folded napkins
  • Sac crockery and polished cutlery (for up to three courses)
  • Corkage of alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks plus glassware, ice and lemon/lime (excluding draft)

Our Asian Inclusive Wedding Package is based on room hire of the Montgomery Suite (11am-11pm), plus all of the above.

*All inclusive packages are based on minimum numbers of 50 daytime and 100 evening. Peak wedding dates are any Saturday outside the football season (May-July). Off peak dates are any Sunday to Friday outside the football season or any day during the football season.
