Girl group give preview performance.

Vistors to a North East shopping centre have been given a special sneak preview of one of the biggest concerts of the year.

Stooshe, whose debut singles Love Me and Black Heart both charted in the top five, are one of 11 top pop acts set to perform at North East Live at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Sunday, June 22.

The band surprised shoppers at the Metrocentre, Gateshead with a live performance of their most popular hits and new single Slip, which is due for release in May.

The special gig, enjoyed by hundreds of spectators in the centre’s town square, gave music fans a taste of what they can expect in Sunderland in eight weeks time and was followed by a fashion show offering festival-inspired style tips, specifically for those planning on attending the one-off gig.

Gary Hutchinson, Commercial Director at SAFC, said: “Fashion and music go hand in hand and Stooshe’s appearance at the Metrocentre not only highlighted that but also gave visitors a unique opportunity to sample what will be on offer at North east live in just eight weeks time.”

North East Live, which is one of three concerts being held at the Stadium of Light this summer, will offer a marathon of live music, including performances also by The Wanted, Rita Ora, Lawson, Conor Maynard, Union J, The Vamps and the North East’s own Little Mix, Amelia Lily and James Arthur.

It will be headline by chart-topping boy band JLS, who recently announced they were to split after more than six years together, playing their last outdoor gig in the North at this event.

Tickets for the event which are now limited, priced from £25 each, will be on sale at the Metrocentre throughout Fashion Live 2013 and are also available online at or by phone on 0871 230 1097 or 0844 477 5775.
