Pop extravaganza countdown is on.
With less than a week to go, preparations are in full swing for the region’s biggest ever pop extravaganza - blink box North East Live - and thousands of concert-goers are looking forward to enjoying what is set to be a sunshine-filled day, featuring 10 top pop acts.
The show kicks off with Austin Mahone, who will open events at around 1:20pm. The rest of the stellar line-up featuring Jason Derulo, Rizzle Kicks, The Saturdays, The Vamps, Union J, Katy B, Neon Jungle and Rixton will take to the stage throughout the afternoon and evening, culminating in the headline act, the sensational Jessie J. The show is anticipated to finish at around 10pm.
Stadium doors will open at 12noon, also allowing access to the courtyard area featuring fairground rides, music and entertainment. A range of catering outlets are available, offering a wide selection of food and soft drink options including pizzas, wrap and street food, along with traditional items such as hot dogs and burgers.
Bar facilities serving a range of drinks are available for concert-goers aged over 18, however patrons are advised that the ‘Challenge 25’ protocol will be in place and they should carry proof of age to avoid any issues on the day.
Weather forecasts are predicting a hot, sunny day and concert-goers should ensure they dress appropriately for such conditions - wear sunscreen (especially young children), bring a hat and stay hydrated throughout the day.
For safety reasons food and drink cannot be brought into the venue and re-entry is not permitted after exiting. Attendees can move between the courtyard and stadium freely however.
